Faces of Fauquier
Studio 22 Salon & Spa
In the nearly two and a half years since opening its doors, Studio 22 Salon and Spa has quickly established itself as a welcoming destination for comprehensive beauty and wellness services. Opened on August 29th, 2023, the salon blends elevated offerings with a comfortable, approachable atmosphere that puts clients at ease from the moment they arrive.
Studio 22 Salon and Spa is owned by Wanda Payne-Banks and managed by Cassandra Mauck.
The full-service salon and spa provides hair services, medical-grade facials and skin care, body waxing, facial and full body lymphatic drainage massages and more. Since opening, the business has steadily expanded its team and service menu. “We’ve added additional stylists as well as two estheticians to provide an expanded service menu,” said Payne-Banks, noting the salon’s commitment to meeting a wide range of client needs.
Growth over the past year has also been driven by innovation. Payne-Banks said, “Advancements in knowledge, understanding and technology in products,” have been among the biggest changes the studio has seen. And, to thank returning clients, the salon recently introduced a rewards program designed to recognize loyalty and long-term relationships.
Client feedback has reinforced the team’s focus on care and consistency. “We continue to get compliments on the cleanliness of the salon as well as the staff’s overall friendliness,” Payne-Banks said, noting that she wants people to feel welcome and at home when they walk through the salon doors.
Support behind the scenes has played an important role as well. Payne-Banks credited her husband, Alan, and Mauck’s husband, Derrick, for their encouragement throughout the journey.
Studio 22 Salon and Spa is also proud of its local partnerships, including collaborations with UVA Credit Union, the Hope Heals Toy Drive and Nollypop Boutique. As the salon moves forward, the focus remains on quality and growth. “[Our goal is to] continue to provide exceptional service and support our staff as they grow to be their best,” Payne-Banks said.
And while the work is professional, the atmosphere stays light. “We’re a very close group who loves to play jokes and pranks on each other,” she said, reflecting on the warmth and camaraderie that define the salon.
